Turning Down Money For Hope
Today I went to a seminar on the Science of Pain from a fellow Fitness First trainer, Michael Ferraro.
A specialist in lower back pain.
It's always refreshing to see a trainer diving into research, going over and beyond of clients and most of all remaining likeable and humble.
There's a lot of crappy trainers out there that don't:
- provide programs
- provide nutrition advice
- provide supplement recommendation
- provide accountability
- provide value
Trust me, I see it every day but there are also some people that really care about this fitness industry like I do, Michael is one of them.
I am not saying I am better than any other personal trainer, nor do I think I am, I just care a ton about the clients I look after and the standard of personal training that exists.
The thing great trainers have in common is the continuous pursuit of knowledge.
"Learn more to earn more."
"The more you know, the more you grow."
Look at it like this...
This morning, the seminar went from 9am - 1pm.
That's 4 hours.
Which could be anywhere from $400-$800 as a personal trainer if you were working back to back in the gym for $100-$200 per hour.
That 4 hours could also be lifelong knowledge that will help add more value to your future clients which could lead to a higher salary in the future.
Like the seminar was today.
This is an example of instant vs. delayed gratification.
Instant money in hand vs knowledge in the brain for potential money in hand later on.
"THE MORE YOU KNOW, THE MORE YOU GROW."
