If You Tell Yourself You're In Pain, You're In Pain!
One massive thing I learnt yesterday at the Science of Pain Seminar was that:
Pain is perception. Perception is reality.
In a number of cases and studies pain is shown to be what people perceive it to be.
Pain is BioPsychoSocial
There was an example of someone who shot his foot with a nail gun and was in massive pain.
This is what it looked like...
He got this scan back and the specialists realised he didn't actually hit his body.
It just wen through his shoe, not his skin.
He created this pain!
He perceived this to be painful but in reality there was no pain!
My mind was blown
It instantly reminded me of the excuses we tell ourselves when we are not motivated.
The gym in reality could be a 5min drive away but we tell ourselves it's too far.
A healthy meal could be a 2min microwave away but we reach for UberEats.
We have to be very careful with what we tell ourselves because whatever we tell ourselves becomes the truth on a biological level, psychological level and a social level.
So my question is to you, what are you telling yourself today?
Whatever you are saying, you are correct.
And if you're telling yourself you'll hit the link below when you're ready, you'll never be ready.
Tell yourself you're ready and hit the link below.
Your perception becomes your reality.
