Confidence Lesson From The Guy In A Tie Dye Shirt
Team, I want to share something from the heart.
I was never really that confident.
I was the shy kid.
The kid that stood behind mum with one eye peeping in public places.
I would look down at the floor instead of holding my head high.
I didn't have the cool clothes at school.
Actually, I remember my mum sending me to school kicking, screaming and crying in a tie-dye t-shirt one time. She bought them for me as a gift and I hated them.
All the kids teased me and laughed... confidence on the floor.
And have you seen my haircut back in the day?? The "bangs".
If you don't know what that is, it's the shaved head with a long ginger fringe.
No wonder I couldn't work up the courage to talk to girls.
Actually, don't worry about talking to a girl, I couldn't even look a girl in the eye.
Confidence isn't something you're born with, it's something that has to be practiced over time.
As I grew older, I grew in confidence.
I asked a girl to be my girlfriend, she said yes, I gained confidence.
I sang at my mums funeral, I got an applause, I gained in confidence.
I then sang in public at the arts centre with my best friend at 15 years old, people clapped, I gained in confidence.
I started speaking at church, people related to what I had to say, I gained in confidence.
I started offering my services to people as a personal trainer, they got results and liked me as a person and how I treated them, I gained in confidence.
I started posting on the internet, people were interested in what I had to say, I gained in confidence.
You don't wake up confident, you practice confidence.
Every time you step out of your comfort zone and ask a girl/boy for her number, you're practicing confidence.
Just like when you are working out, you're practicing confidence in that exercise.
It doesn't come overnight, it comes with effort over time.
You don't get it write the first time..
You stutter your words, trip up in public and forget your lyrics but the fact you stepped out and practiced confidence is what is important here.
So if you're not confident today, don't stress like I used to.
Just keep stepping out in faith, take risks and you can be confident tomorrow.
So many #teambrockashby members have reported higher confidence. Did that happen over night?
HELL NO.
That happened through sets and reps of pushing themselves through the boundary of comfort in every workout and taking the courage to invest in me as their online coach.
But don't just take my word for it, find out for yourself.
Find your confidence.
CONFIDENCE ISN'T GIVEN, IT'S PRACTISED
