Why I Had To Get Needles In My Bum

Just came back from the physiotherapist and my ass is on fire.

I just got over 20 needles put in my butt cheeks and twisted around until my muscles were twitching.

IT HURTS... but feels so much better but feels so much better afterwards.

I did my lower back in a conventional deadlift about 2 weeks ago and I've been on the mend ever since.

I've been getting dry needling sessions with my physio to fix it.

The reason I injured my lower back in the first place was because I avoided getting my needles in my bum every 6 weeks.

I get tight glutes and adductors which results in me lifting with my lower back.

When I lift heavy, it's potential for a disaster.

So instead of getting needles every 6 weeks and doing my rehab exercises, I have to get them once a week for a long, long time and change my entire training to 'rehab' my lower back.

Worth it?

Not at all.

My back was in agony when I first hurt it. I couldn't stand up straight.

Neglecting 5-10 mins per lower body workout and a 6 weekly appointment of needles is not worth the pain.

Learn from my mistake.

Just because you avoid the problem doesn't make the problem disappear.

Do what you need to do, to get what you need done.

The other result isn't worth it.
