Don't Underestimate The Ring

Today I drove 2 hours south to a place called Gerringong.

I sang a beautiful woman down the aisle to marry the man of her dreams.

She was nervous, as was he.

They both muddled through their vows.

You could see they just wanted to kiss each other and be married already.

I had the privilege to sing at the ceremony and for a little bit after while everyone was 'socialising'.

Ever since I have been back I have been thinking about the ring bearers.

The people that carry the rings, the people that hold the wedding in their hands.

No rings, no marriage.

These two pieces of jewellery are what brings the family and friends together, apart from the couple to be wed.

There's big pressure.

But I can imagine if you get given this role from the grooms/bride as opposed to best man, maid of honour or being in the wedding line, it could be a bit of a let down and you may feel less important.

You may feel like anyone could do this job.

A toddler could take your place and give the rings.

And to be honest you're right. They could.

But the fact is they chose you, they entrusted you with it for a reason and you are important.

Reminds me of getting adequate sleep.

Reminds me of following a workout program down to the rep.

Reminds me of tracking macros and actually sticking to them.

Reminds me of getting a coach.

Reminds me of consistency.

They're not sexy, they don't feel 'important' BUT THEY ARE.

Just like if the rings weren't at the wedding, if your sleep, program, macros, coach, consistency aren't there.... you might as well forget about getting married to your results.

If you're the ring bearer, see me as the celebrant.

Follow what I say and everything will go smoothly!
