Who Would You Call Laying In Bed at Night?

Close your eyes.

Think of your closest, best friends.

Think of all of people that you would consider close to you.

Now think of your "let’s go for coffee" friends that you never catch up for coffee with.

Now think of your "let’s catch up soon" friends that you never catch up with.

I know that you know who they are 🤣

If you’re struggling to decipher who they are though, let me give you a bit of help.

Picture yourself snuggling into your bed on a cold winters night with a nice heavy blanket on you. You’re so comfortable. Ahhhhhh.

And on that last roll over you do before you fall asleep you catch a glimpse of your phone light up and you see it is your friend that has messaged you saying, "Hey, sorry that it’s late but I really have to talk to you. Can you please call me?"

You have two options:

A) pick up the phone and call them back.

B) roll over, fall asleep and text them in the morning something like, "Hey, sorry about last night. I fell asleep, I was sooooo exhausted. What’s up??"

If you chose option A, that's a friend.

If you chose option B, they’re not your friends.

I see way too many people hopping around seeing different people they really don’t care about because they’re too scared to take action and move forward in areas of their life they know they should be.

Harsh right???

But I’m 1000% serious.

I can wholeheartedly say, if any one of my friends messages me late at night I’ll pick up and call them.

That’s what friends are for.

Even though we like to think we have everlasting capacity.

We don’t.

We have a limited amount of energy that we can give in our lives.

Some of that goes to friends.

Some to family.

Some to career.

Some to your health.

Some to your hobbies and other areas of life

Stretch yourself too far and you’ll burn out.

Don’t your stretch yourself enough and you won’t find fulfilment.

So stop spending time with people that you don't really care about and focus on spending it with the people you love and care for and doing the things you want and need to do in your life.

LIFE IS TOO SHORT FOR DOING THINGS YOU DON'T WANT TO DO.
