It's Not About What You Give, It's The Fact You Gave

Today I woke up to the smell of smoke drifting through my apartment window on the 10th floor at 6am this morning.

Now at 10:39pm as I write this email, I can hear the singing of sirens as emergency services are scattering throughout the city.

I live in Double Bay, Sydney.

Sydney is in NSW.

NSW is New South Wales.

There are bushfires rampaging through NSW and it is having massive effects on people, wildlife and communities.

Schools are being shut down.

Livestock is dying.

Houses are burning.

People are scared.

The city looks like this too...

The skies are hazy and smoky.

When I was walking home, it literally felt like I was walking through an apocalypse movie.

Though in the city we were confused and cautious, out where the fires were spreading through the bush, damage was being done [and still is].

It breaks my heart to see what it is doing, so I have decided to take action.

It doesn't need to be said but when someone is in need of help, you lend a hand.

So I have chosen to donate to the Salvation Army to play my part in contributing to the impact on the bushfires.
