I Couldn't Help Myself
I try my best to see the best in people.
I try my best not to judge.
But today I was triggered...
I was training chest and back and I see the worst display of personal training I've seen in a while.
Hard not to notice.
1) Texting mid-set while the client is looking at him.
2) Wearing camo shorts on the bottom and his uniform t-shirt up top. Not the dark camo either, the bright green/light brown one.
3) Taking a phone call on the job (this ain't the first time I'd seen it either).
I'm aware these are only three things but these three things are close to my heart.
Face to face personal training is my first love, my bread and butter.
And when you drop the standards by being slack, you're not just hurting me.
You're hurting the industry mate.
So my lesson to you today is...
"If it's not a yes, it's a no. There ain't no maybes."
This was a clear maybe.
If it was a yes, he would be wearing the correct uniform and getting off his flippin' phone while he delivers a session that he's getting paid for!
If you're going to do something, like be a PT or anything in life, do it well.
If you're going to a job interview, do your hair and learn some facts about the company you're interviewing for and be punctual.
If you're getting a birthday gift for a girlfriend/boyfriend, get them something that means something to them. Not a bottle of cologne and a signed card.
And if you're going to transform your body, do it once and do it right.
Do it in Team Brock Ashby with the correct strategies and methods for your goal.
Leave your camo shorts at home!
