The Benefits Of Bleeding Fingers
Today, I helped my new friend Noah choose a guitar.
He has never played before but wants something easy to play.
Maybe it's to fill in time when he's bored.
Maybe it's to impress the girls.
He's a 16 year old dude, I don't blame him.
He's a good looking dude... add a guitar and he'll be unstoppable.
Anyway, Jamal and I went to help him and we needed to make a few decisions.
Nylon strings?
Thin neck?
Steel strings?
Wide neck?
Acoustic?
Electric?
Capo?
Tuner?
There was so many choices to make and decisions to make.
Now Noah had never held a guitar before.
He was a guitar-virgin, so he had no real idea what he was doing and the thing that got us through was everything my dad taught me about guitars as a child and what I experienced playing guitar my whole life.
I knew nylon strings were easier on the tips of your fingers.
I remembered steel strings made my fingers bleed as a kid when I was practicing.
I remember always failing to play clear chords with a wide neck.
The mixture of guidance and experience navigated me.
Just like this messed up fitness industry that vomits rubbish into our feeds.
Todays the day for you to let me provide you the guidance (with online coaching) and for you to experience and see what works best for you!
