Changing Your Habits Is A Walk In The Grass
When you are trying to reprogram your mind and create a new habit it starts off hard.
The decision doesn't feel natural, you feel like you're going against what is right.
Each decision you make to form this new habit is like walking in long grass.
You don't know where you're going.
You can't see if it's leads anywhere.
But the second and third time you walk the same direction, a small path starts to form and you can see your old footsteps.
Then as you continue to walk that same path, you begin to establish a well known path that you're familiar with and can find easily.
If you're trying to give up smoking.
Saying no to a cigarette is almost impossible but the more you do it, the more you can remember the path and walk it.
If you're trying to give up unnecessary snacking.
Calling a friend instead of snacking will feel absolutely stupid and hard but the more you do it, the easier it will get.
The grass will flatten and you will be able to change the direction that you are going.
The trajectory of your life will change.
You just have to do the hard work first.
Step into the long grass.
Step into the new you and back yourself.
Take the first step.
Back yourself to be better every day and step into the grass.
It will get easier and easier and easier.
