Putting The 'cHeAt MeAl' In It's Coffin That It Belongs In ⚰️
When I feel that the caption I write on instagram needs to be read again.
I put it here in my daily emails.
Because you check instagram when you're busy and on the go.
But when you read my emails, I know I have your attention.
You're sitting on the toilet.
You're in an Uber.
You have time to read every word.
So please utilise this time that you're squeezing one out to read this...
"The cheat meal 🙄
The stupidest thing to exist in the fitness industry.
If you want to eat whatever you want for a day without tracking your calories, just do it.
You don’t need to declare it a “cheat day” to make yourself feel better about being inconsistent with your diet and lacking the discipline to stay the course.
Ouch.
I know that hurts but you need to hear it.
And it’s most likely that you’re restricting your calories too much if you feel like you “need” a cheat meal.
Or you’re eliminating “bad foods” from your diet and you miss them so much that you just can’t think straight until you dive into a burger.
Im not trying to tell you what to eat.
Eat whatever you want.
But I know from experience (personally and from coaching 1000’s of clients) that if you don’t over restrict your calories or eliminate “bad foods” you’re less likely to binge and need a cheat meal.
Let alone a cheat day.
Don’t put foods like ice cream and hot chips “off the menu”.
Have them every now and then.
They’re not bad foods.
They’re just higher in calories than other options are.
But you know what?
They taste damn good and can bring happiness to your life.
So why fully eliminate eating something that makes you happy?
Kiki and I’s first date was eating gelato under the stars and every time we eat ice cream together, it feels good and makes us happy.
And if you want to have a high calorie dinner on Sunday at a burger restaurant with an extra large thick shake, you’d an also have it.
Just make it work within your week of calories and you can eat it AND still make progress.
Win/win.
The best way to lose a week of progress is to have a cheat day.
And if you’re wondering why you’re not making progress and you eat perfect Monday - Saturday but eat whatever you want on Sunday.
It’s because you’re under estimating your ability to eat 1000’s of calories on Sunday, which is very easy to do.
You don’t need to cheat on someone you love.
So find a diet you love and that allows you to eat the foods you enjoy and make you happy.
And I promise you, you’ll be together forever 💍😘"
If you want to stop restricting and binging/cheating and repeating this cycle over and over again in a diet that you can't escape, there is hope.
It doesn't have to stay the way it is.
It can change.
There is a diet out there for you that you can love and can get results with.
You just need the right eyes to see it and the right education to create it.
