How I Lost Rhonda In A Car Crash ðŸ˜
My Dad bought this car for me as my first car.
A 2 door Honda Civic #sexy
I loved it, named her Rhonda.
I think it cost dad about $750.
Even took her to Auckland packed full of my clothes and belongings when I moved out of home.
One day I was off to work in Auckland for a modelling job, driving down the road and out of nowhere...
A car backs straight out into the open road in front of me without looking.
I smashed into it at about 50-60km's per hour.
The first thing that crossed my mind was... "I'm going to be late for work."
I was so extremely driven as a teen I didn't really acknowledge that I just avoided death.
Banged my neck up pretty good but the biggest delight was that I wasn't responsible for paying for their car because as you can see by the car I was driving, I didn't have much money to my name.
I got the ladies detail that crashed into me and sat at the curb, sitting there a bit shook.
It's a really interesting feeling knowing that you just could have died.
It's a taste of perspective that most of us need.
Not to die, or even be close to death.
But to know that life can be taken away so quickly that we need to make the most of the time we do have above ground.
I left just after the cops came and went straight to work.
I put a fake smile on my face and did 8 hours straight of smiling for the camera in the clothes they had me wear.
I know you probably don't think that's hard work but pretending to be smile and be happy when you don't feel like it (in clothes that are too tight for you) is hard.
I don't know how husbands and wives do it in relationships they hate.
Or how anyone does it in a job they hate... it's tiring.
The point of this story is straight to the point.
Whatever you have gone through and will go through will shape you as a person and determine the character that you develop into but don't let it stop you from doing what you originally set out to achieve.
There's a ton of car crashes that slow you down in life.
Friends that envy your success.
Relationships that aren't good for you.
Pandemics that halt the world into lockdown.
The list is huge.
But don't let any of these things stop you from doing what you set out to do.
Show up and go to work, daily!
