The First Time I Got Pi$$ed Off In A Gym

I have to preface this email with the fact that I used to work out with just leggings on and a bodybuilding stringer over top.

Pretty much, my nipples were sliding out the side of the singlet and my bulge was out there for everyone to see.

I was young and somehow thought that was a look I should've pursued.

I'm highlighting the fact that I was a young gym douchebag at one stage of my life.

But my God, this young dude really got under my skin at the gym the other day.

All he was doing was taking photos and videos of himself, he was barely working out.

He would do about 15 reps of the lat pulldown and search for the best lighting again, take photos and send selfie snapchat videos to his mates.

I'm glad he's at the gym and all but come on mate.

The 2 biggest mistakes you can make as a young person getting into fitness is the following:

1) Workout to get a pump, not progress.

Chasing a pump may inflate your muscles temporarily but when you leave the gym, you will just deflate again. Focus on getting stronger and training with better form and these hours in the gym will give you a return on investment.

2) Focusing on the outcome, not the journey.

Working out just to get photos to post and share is an immediate sign that you are focused on the outcome and not the process. This is a losing game because the more you focus on the outcome, the less you focus on what processes are necessary for the outcome you desire.

And if you need the process to get there, I've got them for you and they are my Team Brock Ashby programs 👇
