Facts Friday: The Reason You Sit In A Plateau And Never Get Out
Today's a busy day for me at the TBA Bodyquarters, so I don't really have time to beat around the bush.
So here's todays fact..
If you are not applying progressive overload, you can not build muscle or get stronger.
You can't build muscle if you do not lift heavier weights over time, which can be achieved by:
lifting a heavier weight for the same amount of reps
lifting the same weight for more reps
NOT by adding more sets into your workout
You also cannot get stronger by maintaining the same weight lifted or lifting lighter than that. You must increase the weight to get stronger.
These may sound obvious but it's wild to me how many people just walk into the gym, do whatever and lift whatever.
Of the many years I spent on the gym floor as a personal trainer, I saw too many people flailing about.
Following the same program because "that's just what they did."
Looking the same, lifting the same, just treading water.
It's so frustrating to watch and I was so young at the time, most of the people that were over 30 years old didn't take me serious because I was only 22 - 26 years old.
But let this advice be taking serious.
This is literally the reason people sit at plateaus for years.
Don't put up with it.
And if you need a change of programming and a restart from the plateau you have been stuck in for a while, hit the button below and give my 8 week challenge a go.
If you don't enjoy yourself, ask for a refund within 3 days and there's a no-fuss policy on that. You've got nothing to lose 🤷🏻♂️
