How To Eat An Extra 1.5 Big Mac's Per Day And Look Leaner 🍔
Recently I posted a transformation photo of a client that was a classic over exerciser and under eater. It looked like this 👇

My client Dan was your classic under-eater / over-exerciser and came to me wanting to get leaner.
He was doing a workout AND a cardio session on the same day and also eating these little calories. Burning the candle at both ends.
Once I found out he was already on 1600cals, which isn’t a lot for an adult male, the only way to get him leaner would be to eat even less calories than he was on. 1400, 1300, 1200…
But if I did that to him his energy, productivity, workouts and quality of life would all go to shit!
That is going too low and I had to tell him that we had to go for another option. Even though I’m all about getting my clients goal, sometimes we need to guide them in a different direction to get them to their ultimate goal later.
We had to rebuild his calories, to bring his energy up, increase his NEAT, make his workouts more effective and increase his potential to build muscle mass (and quality of life).
This is exactly what we did.
We went straight up to his maintenance and stayed there until we his metabolism was getting better.
Then we kept increasing calories as we focused on building muscle, as opposed to getting leaner, because he really enjoyed his workouts now and we dropped his cardio routine.
Im not against cardio but for him, we didn’t need to do it anymore.
Here we are 800 calories higher with better body composition and better performance in the gym. You can’t really ask for more than that!
