The Focusing Illusion & How It Controls Your Future Self 🧘🏻♂️
You know the whole "environment is everything" saying?
It's true.
And here's why it's true.
There's something called the Focusing Illusion.
I've just finished the book "Think Fast, Think Slow" by Daniel Kahneman and he coined the term which ultimately means whatever you focus on, that is where your perspective, mood and behaviour lays.
You focus on one thing and forget about everything else.
Like when a hot girl walks into the restaurant and you forget what you were saying.
Like when you stub your toe and forget what you were daydreaming about.
On a more serious note, like when you focus on how crap your day was that you lose sight of the good that you do have in it.
Remember, whatever you choose to focus on, will determine your actions and therefore, your future self.
So next time you see yourself in the mirror, look at how beautiful your smile is as opposed to picking off everything you hate about yourself.
You'll feel better for it.
Next time you're at the gym, focus on how great your form is and how grateful you are to have a fully able body to get a workout in and not what everyone else at the gym is doing.
So i'm giving you an opportunity right here, with this mindset in mind.
Focus on what you can do to change your life by joining Team Brock Ashby and having me as your coach.
OR
Go on with your day focusing on whatever falls into your focus.
Just don't lose track on your goals, stay focused on them because that is how you will achieve them.
What you focus on is what you get.
