The Power of Cold Showers 💦
Lately I have felt like my life was too "easy".
I thought back to the times I would wash dishes at three different hotels while trying to grow my personal training clients in Fitness First in Sydney.
I'd sleep 4-6 hours because I would work all day and when I wasn't working I was writing programs, posting on socials of texting/emailing clients to organise sessions.
I'd train twice a day.
Life was hard then for me and recently I have almost felt guilty for sleeping 7-9 hours.
I almost feel guilty that I don't wake up at 4:45am and walk 45mins to get to the gym.
I work less hours than I used to and take more bread home to my wife and growing family.
It's hard to explain but I felt like a protected little pony.
So as much as I push you to be better and motivate yourself, this email is also a wake up call to me to seek hard and challenging things.
I started this with having a cold shower last night instead of a hot one.
I started last night by rolling with a guy that was 20kg heavier and 15 years more experienced than me in Jiu Jitsu when class had finished.
I also asked a black belt to roll after class and got smashed.
I needed it.
I just felt like my life needed to be harder to make me stronger.
I stopped listening to podcasts to explore my own thoughts and develop original ideas.
This may not be as physically hard as I used to have it but when things are hard, we grow.
"Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times."
So my message to you is to choose hard road.
Work 30mins longer at work.
Turn the shower to cold and face some hardship.
Lift 10kgs heavier than last week.
Join my 8 week challenge and choose the road less travelled.
