Why Eating A Burger For Breakfast Is Okay

As I write this e-mail I'm eating a beef burger with a side of sweet potato for breakfast and sipping on a large long black.

This is progress for me.

At one point of my life I was too scared to eat a carrot because it had carbs in it.

I didn't eat fruit because I was afraid of fructose.

At this time of my life, I once told the mother of my girlfriend that I wasn't eating her tomato soup that she specifically made for us [ because she thought it was healthy ]. Then she brought out dessert and I said I wasn't eating that either but asked her politely to boil the kettle so I could have a green tea. #increasedmetabolicrate

I would even sit on the couch and eat ice. I heard somewhere that because the ice was so cold, your body had to heat itself up while you ate it to bring your body back to the original temperature. Apparently this process sped up your metabolism, so I did it every night.

I can't help but laugh at how pathetic I was sitting there watching TV chewing on a glass of ice.

LOL.

The fact that I am eating a burger without substituting the buns for lettuce is a big deal.

Knowing the beef patty is so high in calories because of the fat content and still eating it, is not a small feat for me.

This isn't the healthiest breakfast, nor is it the most optimal meal for my goals but I'm just happy to be eating certain foods without feeling like a failure, a bad person and afraid of carbs.

The emphasis should not be on being perfect but pursuing progress.

If you want to train just to look good in the mirror, do it. Your confidence may be better for it.

If you want to weigh your almonds that you take to work, do it. Your awareness of how many calories are in certain foods may help you achieve your fitness goals.

If you want to invest money into personal training, do it. It’s going to change your life.

If you want to wake up at 4:45am to get to the gym by 5am when it opens, do it. You may not have time in the afternoon with work, family, a social life and other commitments.

If you want to buy a natural protein powder with no artificial sweeteners or additives that costs more than your weekly car payments, do it. It’s your money and you do what you want with it.

If you want to be vegan, do it. That may be progress for you.

P.S. This burger is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. There's grated beetroot in the beef patty ;)
