Didn't Even Get Up To Pee
Soooooo I just woke up from a 9 hour sleep.
To give you some perspective, I used to sleep 4-6 hours per night for a long, long time.
That was standard.
That was also the reason why I felt like I wasn't progressing in my life.
I couldn't think straight, I was too busy trying to be productive and be awake that I couldn't realise that I was so unproductive because I was so exhausted.
Too exhausted to realise I was exhausted. #inception
I was stacking up on enough caffeine for a large family.
I wasn't recovering from my workouts but would 'push through' and result in a lower back injury.
I would fall asleep anywhere.
*TRUE STORY*
In 2017 when I lived in a studio in Potts Point, I once fell asleep untying my laces after work.
I woke up the next morning on the floor with one shoe on.
During this time, I would also be so sleep deprived throughout the week, on the weekend (usually a Friday night) I would sleep for over 12 hours.
*END OF TRUE STORY*
Working over 12 hour days.
Training 7 days per week (sometimes twice in a day).
Massively stressed every day.
I'm not looking for a sympathy vote but more to make you aware of how important sleep is and how dangerous it can be without adequate sleep.
So yesterday I got my blinds changed to ones that would blackout my apartment because when the sun came up, my room would light up too. Then I would wake up.
Last night was the first test run of the blinds.
9 hours uninterrupted sleep.
Hallelujah.
Didn't even get up to pee.
I feel like I'm on the Limitless drug that Brad Cooper took on the movie.
The blinds were a battle to get though, it took 8 weeks of discussions with Spotlight to get them in to measure it, quote it and send someone out at at time that I was home.
Good things like 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep are worth fighting for.
So is your body transformation!
