Can You Even Enjoy Life Anymore?

Today I watched my client Neil (classical pianist) and Sharon (Cello player) play a classical piece of music called Astor Piazzolla - Le Grand Tango.

Not my typical Sundays outing but well worth the travel over the other side of the Sydney Harbour bridge.

Here's a few notes I wrote down on my iPhone as I sat there and emerged myself into a world of classical music.

Classical music ( a symbol of the older generation)

- open to interpretation
- able to draw your on conclusions
- encourage you to feel your own emotions
- story telling
- art
- no one filmed it on their iPhone (making the most of it)

Instagram ( a symbol of the new generation):

- dictated perspective
- conclusion already formed
- emotions implicated
- reading a story that’s already been told
- entertainment
- "if you didn’t post it, did it happen?"

I sat in a room of approximately 40 people that were double to triple my age 50 - 75+ years old and they all had something in common...

None of them filmed it on their iPhones and none of them were unhappy about it.

Take what you want from this but if you feel attacked, you probably spend too much time on your phone.

And when you're 75 years old you probably won't look back at your life and say, "I wish I spent more time on my iPhone."

Live now.

Live present.
