The Unspoken Rules In The Men’s Bathroom
There are a few unspoken rules in the Mens Bathroom.
1) If there is a urinal available beside some one else, take the next one so there is a urinal between you.
2) You can use your phone while taking a pee but the phone must be facing toward you.
3) If you hear someone fart while they pee, you pretend you never heard it.
4) If you see someone that didn't wash their hands after going to the bathroom, you never saw it.
These are not written anywhere but assumed as common knowledge.
There's a few in the gym too.
1) Don't stare at others.
2) If someone needs help with a spot, you spot them.
3) If someone wants to share the machine you are on, you let them work in while you rest.
4) If you're about to fill up a 3L water bottle and someone just wants a sip of water, you let them go.
These are the sort of things you learn as you go to the gym more often, just as you learn the unspoken rules of the Mens Bathroom the more you use the bathroom in public environments.
But one common misconception people have around the gym is that these unspoken rules include:
- correct technique when working out
- correct nutrition for your goal physique
- correct lifestyle habits to optimize results
That simply is no true.
You cannot learn these from simply hitting the gym and asking the biggest bro in the room for his workout plan and watching his workout for good technique.
