The Non Cute And Fluffy Version Of Why You Need To Believe
I always wanted to live in the apartment that I live in now.
I always wanted to 'help people' for a job.
I always wanted to pay for my dads holiday.
I always wanted wise friends that I can call on as mentors.
I always wanted to have a girlfriend like Kiki.
And you know what?
I got them.
And up until today I never really knew how to word it.
I would resort to the law of attraction or the 'fake it til' you make it' spiel but I didn't really have a clue.
See, I write everything down that I want in my life to happen and every morning I declare all I am grateful for and ask for everything that I want to come true.
The people I want in my life, the people I want to work for, the places I want to travel, down to the income I want to make.
I heard a quote today and I can finally understand why I am in the situation I am.
I believed it.
It sounds so cute, colourful and fluffy but keep reading. Trust me.
"Believing a solution paves the way to the solution."
I wanted a one bedroom apartment with a water view in a quiet neighbourhood of established people, I got it.
I wanted to 'help people', I transform lives.
I wanted to pay for my dads holiday, I shared my 26th Birthday with him in The Whitsundays.
I wanted friends that would tell me the truth and not what I wanted to hear, I have them.
I wanted a beautiful and smart girl that challenged me to be a better man, I met her.
Don't get it twisted though...
You can ask for anything and everything that you want in life but if you aren't willing to put the work in that it requires, you're wishing your life away.
You truly are.
Nobody ever changed the world without taking action.
Which reminds me of a quote I'll never forget from Bruce Almighty, said by Morgan Freeman who is playing God.
"Let me ask you something.
If someone prays for patience, you think God gives them patience?
Or does he give them the opportunity to be patient?
If he prayed for courage, does God give him courage, or does he give him opportunities to be courageous?
If someone prayed for the family to be closer, do you think God zaps them with warm fuzzy feelings, or does he give them opportunities to love each other?"
Step 1) Believe it.
Step 2) Do whatever means necessary to achieve it.
