Ebbs And Flows, Droughts And Downfalls, Rises and Falls...

One thing I never really understood until late last year was that life is seasonal.

It has ebbs and flows.

It has droughts and downfalls.

It has ups and downs.

However we want to word it, life is not a constant and I don't think that many things are.

We would love weight loss to be a constant drop but it just isn't the truth.

We can lose 1kg over night and gain 500g over night too.

We would also love our finances to be constant but they definitely are not.

Speeding tickets, parking fines, shouting dinner and more, or less, hours working make it impossible to be.

Not even love.

I believe we can consistently love but love being constant... I find it hard to believe.

You might love someone more after you just have sex and your hormones are going nuts, or after they give you a gift, display their love for you in sweet gestures or while you're on a honey moon after a spectacular wedding.

Flash forward to an argument over who hasn't done the dishes, or the washing or when they tell you that you will both be going for a special dinner but they end up spending the night out with their mates.

You can still love them, sure.

It just won't be as strong as it has been in the past in 'magical' times you've experienced together.

Even hard work isn't constant.

But you can consistently work hard.

You might want it more when you're close to achieving the goal and procrastinate more when it's 6 months away.

It's natural to be this way.

Tides rise and fall so why would everything in our life be different.

We need to drop the idea of perfect results and perfect our actions towards the result.

"Nothing in life is constant but everything can consistently be done."
