Orange Light: Speed Up Or Slam The Brakes
So, I received this comment yesterday after posting a "How not to" vs. "How to" video yesterday.
I've got no problem with what this person has to say to me.
They have a point.
I've just been busy worrying about my Team Brock Ashby members making home workouts around the clock.
Been a busy man.
I haven't had much time for creating content for instagram.
There's only so many hours in a day.
The bottom line is my clients pay me, instagram followers don't and I need to provide my personal training service to my team members.
They matter most to me.
You see, I agree that this person commenting to me isn't a fitness professional, so they shouldn't be creating home workout content for their audience to follow.
However, just because they don't have the platform that I do, or a large social following, that shouldn't be a reason for them to be quiet and not speak out what they want to share with the world.
If we all waited until we had a platform to say something, the world would be silent.
We would wait until we had a six pack before we started a diet.
We would wait to be fit before we went for a run.
We would wait to be rich before we opened a business.
We would wait for the bloody coronavirus to settle down and relax before we did a workout.
THAT IS BACKWARDS.
Action creates momentum, momentum creates confidence, confidence creates results, results create value, value creates demand and demand creates attention.
We should be holding ourselves to a higher standard regardless of how many people like our selfies or view our stories.
We should be voicing our opinion if we have a million followers or our only followers are Mum and Dad.
We should be starting a diet whether we are in shape or can't fit our "skinny" jeans.
We should be getting fit if we can do 50 unbroken burpees or still get tired form walking up stairs.
If you're waiting for consecutive green lights in life to accelerate, you'll never take off.
When the lights green, we go.
When it's orange, we think quick on our feet and speed up or slam the brakes.
When it's red, we stop and think about what we'll do when it's green.
But sitting and waiting for a shooting star to spell our name in the sky... well it just never happens.
