If A Koala Can Do It, So Can We
To be quite honest, I'm fed up with hearing about how COVID-19 is making life everyone's harder.
I open Instagram...
China is roaming through the streets celebrating their freedom of lockdown while South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore get a new wave of confirmed cases and infections.
I turn on the TV...
The NSW Premier is announcing that we can't see our families for Easter.
So I want to share with a story of life with you.
A story of restoration and regeneration.
I want you to meet Anwen.
Anwen is about 4-5 years old, and had badly burnt hands, feet, arms and fur from the 2019 Australian Bushfires.
For months she sat quietly in a basket in an intensive care unit after being rescued.
When it was decided her wounds had healed enough to no longer need dressing she was moved to an external, rehabilitation yard.
Although quiet, she was active, cheeky and enjoyed moving around her enclosure and eating leaf.
Anwen was ready to go home and was released back to her home range last Friday, 3rd April, 2020.
A selfless and amazing Christmas gift from Sally as I left Fitness First last year.
She adopted Anwen under my name.
Though Anwen is scarred internally and externally, she is still alive and flourishing.
