"Yuss, I burned 500calories that workout."

This should not be the goal

The focus of resistance training should be building muscle, not burning calories.

We should be striving for an extra rep more than last time.

Doing an extra set to increase work capacity.

Adding plates to the bar or picking up heavier dumbbells than you have before.

Which happens to be progressive overload, a key factor to building muscle.

Burning calories is not what a workout is for.

That’s what increasing your NEAT is for.

N.E.A.T (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) 🤓

Walking to the doctors, walking to the grocery stores, playing tennis instead of watching a movie, walking when you’re talking on the phone and not sitting on your ass.

That’s how you burn more calories.

That’s also what cardio can be for but even then, try to run a faster mile, row a quicker 500m, swim a PB you haven’t swam before.

We burn calories in our sleep, why focus on it when you're awake?

You literally do it in your sleep.

Can you imagine checking your Fitbit every time you change positions with your girlfriend, or boyfriend?

Is that gonna be a good time?

HELL NO.

Be in the moment, focus on having good $ex and perform well 😂

Your partner doesn't care about how many calories you've burnt, just as long as you've "done the job", you follow?

Same goes with your workouts.

Hit goals that make you stronger, fitter, more athletic, more agile and chances are you’ll probably burn more calories than you would when you exercise looking at your Fitbit every 2 seconds to see your heart rate and calories burned.

And if you don't know where to start with your workouts to actually build muscle and not fluff around burning calories.

No promises on making you better at pleasing your partner but I can definitely help you with looking better naked and feeling stronger, so it might actually help 🤷🏻♂️
