The "Smoke & Mirrors Workout Program”
This is what my current workout program looks like.
Straight sets.
5 exercises.
Get in, get out.
No supersets, no giant sets, no 1+1/4 methods, no rest periods, no tempo, no sexy weight tracking, no RIR given, no notes on the side and no coach to look over my program.
I'm not trying to say that these things aren't important, they are foundational.
I'm trying to say that, if you don't master the basics you have it all wrong.
I'm using this time that the gyms reopen to focus on perfecting my technique.
Getting strong and building muscle with elite form.
So I can do it until i'm grey and old and stay injury-free.
I've been training for 12 years and I know I can still get better with breathing, tempo, technique and training with the right intensity.
That's why I'm focusing on the basics.
If you can't do a straight set right, don't do a superset.
If you can't do a standard rep correctly, don't do a fancy 1+1/4 rep.
If you can't commit to your rest periods, get off your phone between sets.
If you can't stick to your program, get a coach to write one for you.
If you can't bake a cake, don't even worry about looking at icing recipes!
I promise the one I write for you will look a lot better than my current one on Notes 🤣
