My Story From The Start To Now & All The $hit In Between
Today on my insta stories I was asked what it was like to work for yourself and how I got clients.
So here's the story.
When I first decided to work for myself as a singer and be in Moorhouse (a boy band back in NZ), I started broke, cleaned toilets on the side and finished broke but with a whole lot of experience.
When I became a PT in NZ, I started broke and 3 months later was the busiest personal trainer in the gym with sessions from 6am - 9pm every week day and I worked the Saturday/Sunday mornings with clients and during the day/night I did modelling and TV presenting on the side. I learnt a lot about myself.
When I moved to the Gold Coast after this, I was a personal trainer from 4:45am - 2pm then I went home, got ready and sang at pubs and restaurants at night time and on the weekends.
When I moved to Sydney and became a PT, I only had enough money for two more rent payments for the studio apartment I lived in. I spent 6am - 9pm in the gym growing my client base and washed dishes in two different hotels on the weekends. I became one of the busiest personal trainers in that Fitness First and when I had the money I put it back into courses, gym equipment for my clients, camera equipment, computer softwares, business coaches/mentors and web developers to help me get better as a personal trainer and business owner.
When I left the gym and decided to become a full time online coach after last Christmas, I invested heavily in myself and actually needed to borrow money from a friend. Once again, I went broke but I treated my day like another day at the gym. Up at 6am and working late, late nights. I worked my ass off and kept posting content, studying and getting transformations for my clients.
So often, working for yourself looks like this luxury life. Doing what you want when you want.
But let me tell you, it's not.
Especially when you're starting out.
You're not just doing your job.
You're doing your job plus five other jobs.
I was a PT, an admin, a marketer, a salesman, a student and a BDM.
Just like you go through ex's to find the love of your life, you go through hardships to become a better person and create the life that you want.
I'm so fortunate to work where I want, when I want and do what I want. for whatever reason I want to do it for.
But this came through so many long hours, lonely nights, tears on the pillow, not knowing what to do and hundreds of thousands of dollars.
This is why my clients get results because this isn't just another job for me or something I do for fun.
This is years in the making.
This is my life and brings me massive purpose and fulfilment when I contribute to someones life being flipped upside down and changed for the better.
And the best thing is...
This is just the beginning!
