Coming In From The Food Court

Right now, I'm sitting in a food court in Bondi

I'd say there's a good 400 people around right now and... it's loud.

Cleaners, people eating, kids shouting and screaming, school kids getting burgers etc.

There's distractions everywhere.

People walking, talking and eating.

But I need to overcome these distractions to sit down, create a couple of programs and write this daily email before hitting the gym.

So I reach into my backpack, pop my headphones in, crank Spotify and get to work.

This works for me.

I could be sitting by a lake in New Zealand.

I feel the same focus.

This daily email is flowing from my brain to my fingertips and onto the screen in front of me like Picasso to a linen canvas.

Music and headphones give me a barrier to the distractions that would get my attention and slow my focus.

And that's all life really is.

Setting goals, creating a plan to get there.

And avoiding distractions that stop, or slow, us from getting the goal.

Whether that's putting on headphones to drown out the surrounding noise or dumping a boyfriend/girlfriend that doesn't support you.

Eliminating distractions is key to making fast progress.

We humans are simple beings... evolved apes.

We can only focus on one thing (though I know some people claim they can 'multi-task').

We are the most effective when we are focusing on one thing!

Which is why Team Brock Ashby is tailored to that one thing you want to achieve.

Your goal, nothing else.

So we can get there as fast as possible with laser focus.
