I've Had 14 Jobs & Couldn't Hold Down Any Of Them

This is a screenshot of an email I sent back in 2015 to a lady I really wanted a job from when I was moving from New Zealand to Gold Coast to live with my brother.

I was overworked.

I was lonely.

I was unfulfilled.

And to be quite honest, I think I was depressed.

It actually made me laugh reading this email though because on paper it looks like I couldn't hold a job.

I looked unstable AF.

Before becoming a PT I had a ton of different jobs, each for only 3-6 months at a time.

I washed dishes.

I served plates.

I collected glasses and cutlery off tables.

I served hot chips and burgers at rugby games.

I was a ball boy at rugby games.

I sang.

I modelled.

I cleaned my old church, the toilets too.

I sold Havaianas.

I presented on TV.

I was a receptionist at a gym.

I did scaffolding.

I taught singing and guitar lessons.

That's about 13 different jobs and I'm only 26 haha.

Sh*t... I've done quite a lot!!

On the outside I looked unstable but on the inside I was so driven to find a job I loved... I just hadn't found it yet.

I was driven to find that thing that woke me up at 5am with a smile on my face and would keep me up until midnight because I loved it so much.

It's not that I couldn't hold a job, it's that I didn't want to hold the job!

Because I knew if I stayed where I was, I would be unhappy.

So I moved on, and kept moving until I found it.

Which I eventually did in coaching.

There is something out there for all of us that is fulfilling.

Not just in our careers and work lives but in our partners we share our lives with too.

Don't stop until you're happy.

Same goes with your body.

Don't blame it on your job, your wife, your kids or your bloody schedule.

Keep fighting until you get where you want to be.

And if you can't get there yourself, join TBA and I'll do it for you in 8 weeks!
