Why Do We Do This To Ourselves?
Woke up this morning with a ton of e-mails replying to yesterdays e-mail about dealing with grief.
That tells me one more thing.
We have to talk about it more.
Talk to your friends, talk to your family, talk to your mentors.
Skip the superficial "Hi, how are ya?" and get to the good stuff.
The stuff that makes you cry.
I love crying, not afraid to do it at all.
That's when you know you have a true friend.
Anyway, today's email I want to highlight the amount of sleep we know we should have and the amount of sleep we really have.
Last night I slept at 9:45pm and woke up at 6:45am.
That's 9 hours.
That used to be two of my sleeps.
I used to average 4-6 hours per night before I took a massive look at my life and realised I wasn't really getting more done in a day.
I used to think sleep was unproductive.
I was operating in Auto Pilot and taking the easier option subconsciously.
I was focused at work but never being innovative.
I was kind of like a robot.
No new ideas.
Just going through the motions.
Now with more sleep I am more focused and feel able to think wider and deeper.
Read between the lines as opposed to reading the lines.
Don't you feel the same?
When you sleep more you feel better?
Ask yourself this...
What can you sacrifice to feel better every single day?
TV?
Chilling?
Procrastinating?
Being somewhere you don't really want to be but feel obliged to be?
Take ownership of your life.
We all know that we sleep less than we should, I'm guilty of that 1000%.
But think about it, that's something we can literally change today and start seeing results everywhere.
Better training.
Better head space.
Better mental clarirty.
Better mood.
Better vision.
Better recovery.
Better productivity.
Better relationships.
SLEEP!
Shoot for 8 hours per night :)
