This morning I was asked if I would still train when I am 80 years old.

And the answer is yes, I'll still be training.

I won't be deadlifting 2.5x my body weight.

Nor will I bench press 2x my body weight.

But working out is all about doing what you can with what you have.

And if I'm 80, I can't imagine myself being too interested in getting a deadlift PB.

I'll most probably be exercising to see how many tubs of ice cream I can still get away with in my older years.

I can imagine exercising to stay fit for my grand children or my weekly social tennis matches.

Whether you're 80 or 18, working out is about doing what you can with what you have to get where you want to be.

And at 18, that might be trying to look like a greek god to pull a fit bird/boy.

And at 80, that might be doing anything to stop the inevitable muscle degradation from happening (sarcopenia) to maintain a strong enough bone density to prevent any broken bones when you fall.

Whatever you goal is, you can work towards it.
