Why You're Complacent And How You Get Out Of It

Let me tell you why you aren't sticking to your workouts and diet.

You can’t be arsed.

That’s why.

Let’s be honest.

You can’t be arsed.

“Once your reason for change is stronger than your comfort of complacency, you will act.”
B. Ashby, 2021

I made up that quote this morning and it's true.

You’re reason for sticking to your workout plan and diet has to be stronger than not sticking to it.

That’s why people run marathons when a close friend or family member has cancer.

They want to see change for their friend and that ain’t gonna happen by 'not being arsed'.

That’s why people sign up to a gym, start eating healthy and start meditating and doing yoga after having a heart attack.

Their reason for change (working out and dieting) is stronger than their complacency (doing nothing about their health and risking high chances of having another heart attack).

You’re not lazy, you just need to find a reason to not be lazy.

That’s why often when people want to lose a few kilos, it doesn’t stick because that goal doesn’t mean $hit to them.

Instead of just setting a goal that means nothing to you, think about it.

Think about it hard.

Really think about it.

Think about what you really care about and what you want to see change in your life (in all aspects) and link it to your goals.

The more your goal means to you, the more you’re likely to stick it out.
