How I F**ked Up My Teens 🤡
I posted this a few days ago on instagram and ultimately it was how I f**ked up my teens.
From about 18-21 I really screwed me up my relationship with food.
I had all my thought processes wrong about nutrition.
I stopped eating ice cream.
I stopped eating bread.
I even stopped eating fruit!
21 year old me vs 26 year old me 🤯 These are the main differences between these two physiques (as well as the time difference of 5 years of putting in some hard yards).
1. Avoiding carbs vs eating a high carb diet.
I thought carbs were the devil and made you gain weight. Now I know, I need them to train hard and perform well.
2. Training twice a day every day vs training 5-6 days per week.
I was over training and getting little yield in results. I was mixing cardio with weights and injured my lower back a few times from over training but was too stubborn to change my routine because I thought more was better. Once I pulled back from twice a day training to once a day and even a day off per week, I saw great returns in performance and in my physique.
3. Sleeping 4-6 hours per night vs sleeping 6-8 hours per night.
I was always tired but thought it was part of the process of being "hard working". Turns out you just feel tired all the time, don’t recover well and can’t focus throughout the day 🤥
4. Training harder vs training smarter.
I’ve never struggled with putting in effort with training and nutrition but I did struggle with knowing what the hell to do. Once I began studying and educating myself on what the best programming will be for me and my goals, I really started to see progress.
We all have periods of time where we are figuring all this stuff out. Should you eat keto or are carbs evil? Should you do intermittent fasting? Should you be vegetarian?
I get it but if you could figure it all out a bit faster than I did, it’ll be easier to stick to your goal and achieve it in a faster time frame.
P.s. you could figure it all out in Team Brock Ashby, which gives you access to over 5.5+ hours of educational videos in any coaching program you choose to run with 👊
