What's The Mountain You Are Facing? 🏔️
Happy Thanksgiving weekend to you all who celebrated it.
I hope you found great value in sitting back and reflecting what you are grateful for and the good things you have in your life.
It's very easy to focus on what we don't have but we reach a place of fulfilment when we acknowledge what we do have.
Anyway, todays email!
The biggest thing that gets in our way is not often what we are chasing but what we go through as we're chasing it.
If you're trying to lose 5kg, that goal in itself is not the obstacle that will stop you.
It's the self doubt.
It's the giving into the temptation of weekend blow outs.
It's skipping training because your mate isn't going to come with you.
Which reminds me of a quote:
"It isn’t the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it’s the pebble in your shoe." - Muhammad Ali.
These little bumps in the road are the pebble in your shoe.
And instead of sitting down, taking the shoe off, getting the pebble out and putting the shoe back on.
We keep charging on.
But that pebble creates blisters and uncomfortable steps that eventually grind us down to giving up.
Before we charge on we must address the pebbles that are rattling around in our shoe.
So look at joining Team Brock Ashby as taking your shoe off and shaking it upside down until all of the pebbles fall out.
It may not happen all in one day but you sure will be walking much faster and tackling many more obstacles than you ever would've thought.
