Motivation Monday - If You Don't Lift Weights, You May End Up Here 😬

Motivation Monday (yes... I know it's Wednesday)

For the last few days I have been hanging out at the hospital with my dad as he heals up.

He is getting better and will be fine soon, don't worry about us in that way.

But as I'm sitting there in the stale setting of the hospital, I can't help but look around and observe the lack of muscle mass in the rooms, throughout the corridors and downstairs in the cafeteria.

I'm aware the hospital may not be the best place to find people that are absolutely jacked and beaming with life but I can't help but feel that we really need to be putting some serious education out there on the importance of lifting weights.

- How it helps with fat loss, and when added to a diet, makes it more successful than just a diet alone. With the levels of obesity and sedentary lives we are living, this is key for extending and optimising our mortality.

- How it helps with reducing frailty. When you lift weights, not only does it strengthen your muscles but it also strengthens your connective tissues, like ligaments and tendons, but also your bone density.

- How it helps build your metabolism through calorie expenditure in the workouts and raises your daily calorie expenditure because you have more muscle mass which is metabolically active.

Correlation does not mean causation and just because I saw zero bodies in the hospital with impressive muscle mass and many that were overweight and terribly postured, does not mean everyone is "out of shape".

But what I will say is that if you start lifting weights, that could be the catalyst to your health improving and not needing to go to the hospital.

I haven't been to the hospital EVER for anything health related and I plan to keep it that way.

You could potentially live in the same way, hospital free, by lifting weights, getting your steps in, improving your sleep and adjusting your lifestyle accordingly.

And it could all start with a Team Brock Ashby program you can get by hitting the button below!
