Wednesday Wisdom: Really? That Is What You're Scared Of?

In 2023, most of you know what:

  • a calorie deficit is

  • what progressive overload is

  • the benefits of building muscle

  • you should try and get a certain amount of physical activity in your life


But there is an obstacle that gets many people stuck in their tracks.

Fear.

Also seen as:

F - False

E - Evidence

A - Appearing

R - Real

Fear of what people will think, fear of failure, fear of injury, fear of not getting results...

The list of fears that can dominate your life is an extensive list and the antidote is a tough pill to swallow but just like the cowardly dog did it, you can too.

BE COURAGEOUS.


You don't have to train with your shirt off shouting out your rep count. Being courageous can look like:

  • going to the gym when you don't feel 100% confident

  • lifting a weight you have never lifted before

  • sticking to your calories and macros for an entire day with no cheating

We actually need fear in our lives because if we didn't, as we evolved, we would have all been eaten by sabre tooth tigers and leopards.

Fear stops us doing things that will risk failure but today, since we most likely aren't going to get eaten by a cheetah or a wolf, it actually stops us doing things that will risk us being successful.

Flip the script as you fear to grow and improve as opposed to shrink and degrade.
