Motivation Monday (Late Again, I Know): Your Gym Dad

Yesterday I was listening to a podcast on fatherhood.

I learned that one of my roles as a father, especially through rough and tumble play, is to build up my daughters confidence and resilience.

Through playing and being present with her, I can teach her how to fall and get back up.

How to accept failures and move on.

How to try different strategies to get what she wants.

How to co-operate with me and other people.

All of these things that I can teach her, through the simple act of playing and being present with her.

It reminds me of my role as a coach with my Team Brock Ashby members.

I teach them how to be confident in the gym through being present and watching over them as they workout (which can be an adult form of play if you look at it).

I teach them how to be resilient, train with good technique and also learn the benefits of training close to failure.

I educate them on principles that will make them wiser and more intelligent in training and nutrition.

So, if you feel helpless in the gym don't just flail about making random sh*t up.

Let me guide you to confidence, resilience and results.
