What I Learnt From Meditating On A Monday
Today I recorded the Leah Simmons podcast but before we sat down and had a 2 hour chat, she put me through my paces in one of her KAAIAA classes.
Now, I hate group classes.
They just don't vibe with me and my goals but today's class was an experience I needed.
And the experience I needed was when we meditated.
I do my own version of meditation every morning which is called my Gratitude List, or Thank Bank, but today I was literally sat there with my thoughts which doesn't happen enough.
I sat there and all I could think of was everything I needed to do after the class...
- choose a logo for the TBA app
- write my motivational email (this one)
- book the location for a podcast on Wednesday
- post a video in the BBB FB group
Which I know is not the point of meditation but this is what happened and always happens when I have tried to meditate,
The list goes on and on and I had a realisation...
I can only generate new thoughts if I have room for them.
Which made me think how this thought process runs true in other areas of our life.
We can only build muscle if we have the capacity to progress the load.
We can only grow in knowledge if we allow time to sit down and study.
We can only have room for people in our life if we allow room for them.
