Motivation Monday: How To Choose The Right One 🍕
Motivation Monday: How To Choose The Right One 🍕
Yesterday my wife and I celebrated our first Wedding Anniversary.
We had our first date in 2019, we we were engaged in 2020, we bought an apartment in 2021, we got married in 2022 and we had a daughter in 2023.
Any guesses for 2024?
Choosing a partner is very closely related to finding a diet that works for you.
And just like how choosing the wrongly suited partner can wreak havoc in your life, so can a wrongly suited diet.
I tried keto. I thought I enjoyed it but my energy levels were flat.
I tried low calorie. I was eating 1500 calories per day. Which is lower than what most of my female clients are on these days. It left me at 69kg, low amounts of muscle mass and terrible strength in the gym.
I tried vegetarian. It lasted one day, let's leave it there.
I tried intermittent fasting. I tried the 16/8 protocol where you fast for 6 hours of the day and eat for 8 hours of the day. I also tried 20/4 and 22/2 (which is pretty much one meal per day). This style of eating made me literally
I haven't tried carnivore and am not interested in trying a vegan diet because just like I have found the wife I cherish, my diet is the same.
I flexible diet. Well... What the hell is that Brock?
Most of my diet is lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, yoghurt, milk and unprocessed foods.
Some of my diet is ice cream, cake (had some this week to celebrate my brother in laws birthday, cheesecake, croissants and all the treats under the sun.
I could never part from my diet because I honestly do not feel like I'm "on a diet".
Just like I feel like I'm not "in a marriage".
And if you don't have what I have, this isn't an email for me to establish how awesome I am because I have been really fortunate to find these things very early.
Just like it takes a few awkward first dates, one night stands and semi-committed six month relationships to find your soulmate, it takes many dieting attempts to find what works for you.
It's most probably flexible dieting but you may also be well suited to a low carb diet or pescatarian diet.
There's only one way to find out... Go on few awkward dates!
