Why Not Making A Decision Is Bad For You

As I prepare for the final podcast that I'll release in 2023 on The Better With Brock Podcast, I'm mulling over everything I have learnt in my almost 30 years of this earth.

It's quite scary coming to terms that you've spent so long being alive and have to cherry pick gold nuggets from what your brain has absorbed.

You have to walk down the dark alleys of times you would have preferred to be forgotten but also reminisce on beautiful times that make you smile just thinking about.

One of the most recent lightbulb moments that I will be sharing is the weight of unmade decisions.

"Nothing in the world is heavier than an unmade decision."

Should you quit your job, or give it 6 more months?

Should you leave your partner that ties you down and guilts you into doing things for yourself, or put up with it because she was your childhood crush?

Should you go back to school as a 40 year old or sweep your dreams under the rug?

Nothing in this world is heavier than an unmade decision, yet we are all floating around with boulders in our head.

This stems from the Zeigarnik Effect where you hold the information and stress you need while a loop is open (a decision that needs to be made) but once the loop is closed (a decision being made) all of that information and stress is forgotten.

A big help for this situation that I have found is something that I learned from The Paradox Of Choice and to summarise it, if it's not a "f*ck yes" it's a "hell no".

So leading into 2024, are you ready to get a head start on the body that you've always wanted?

Stop being irresolute and make a decision towards a better you and join Team brock Ashby.

Not only are you going to get a world class transformation but you will also drop the weight of indecision that bears so much weight on your mental space.
