I'm Not Asking You To Shove A Trophy Up Your A$s 🏆

A wee while ago my mate told me that I need to see 'Everything, Everywhere, All At Once'.

I'm a sucker for sci-fi, fantasy movies like Avatar and Oblivion and this sounded up my alley.

The movie was broken up into 3 acts:

1. Everything

The main character, Evelyn, discovers that she can travel to an alternate reality. A different universe where she can be the same person but lead a different life that is a sum of different decisions she has made. E.g. One she is a blind singer and one she is a kung fu actor.

2. Everywhere

She can hop to any universe that she wants. The more random the thing that she does before she jumps universes, the further she will jump. One guy even shoves a trophy up his a$$ to jump to a universe.

3. All at once

After seeing all of the different universes, even ones where she is rich and successful, she decides to stay in the universe that she originally was in, the real world, to run a laundromat, be with her family and pay her taxes. Oh and she also realises that she will never be able to control her daughter but learns that just learning to understand her and be there for her is all that her daughter wanted.

It was a nice fluffy ending blah blah blah.

Aaaaaaaanyway, the reason I wanted to bring this up is because there was a moment in the movie that spoke to me.

The more effort that they put into doing a random thing before they verse jumped, the further they would jump. The more risk involved, the harder it was to do, the further they jumped.

This speaks of the relationship between effort and progress to me.

The more effort we put into the things we do in order to get from where we are and where we want to be, is proportionate to how far and fast we progress.

The smaller the effort, the smaller the progress.

Look where you are today...

Are you putting all of your effort into what you want to achieve?

Or are you half-assing it and making half-ass progress as a result?

Your effort is directly correlated to how far and fast you progress.

I'm not asking you to shove a trophy up your a$$, just join the challenge and give me some real effort, so you can see real progress.

Check the challenge out here!

P.s. Top movie, well worth a watch! 8/10
