A lot can happen in 8 weeks...

These days, people want to see what they can achieve in 8 days.

The timeline is getting shorter and shorter and shorter, with our attention spans.

But I want to show you what you can actually achieve in 8 weeks with my methods and strategies.

This is Maxwell, the first place winner of the Built By Brock Members Only 8 Week Challenge.

Here's a few words from him:

"I’ve struggled for most of my life with my body image and disordered eating. I’ve always found the gym incredibly intimidating. I never grew up in the weight room or had anyone teach me how to lift. I’ve been following your content for a while now because the way you presented your content seemed accessible/doable.

I signed up initially because I had no idea what I was doing, and I knew I needed to start taking better care of myself. My main goal was to gain muscle/weight. Before starting the challenge, I weighed maybe 145lb. I’ve gained 12 lbs after the two months. I feel strong in my body. I’ve learned so much, and I don’t feel completely lost in the gym anymore.

My biggest takeaway has been eating to fuel my body. Before the challenge I was eating maybe 1,000 calories and malnourished. By the end of the challenge, I believe I got up to 2,800 calories. It challenged a lot of my lifelong narratives and struggles around food and body image. Especially, when I started gaining muscle and my body started to expand. My clothes got tighter. It was good and it meant I was meeting the goal (obviously). However, It freaked me out because I had never intentionally gained weight before and in the past "gaining or eating too much" was bad...

This experience has liberated me in ways that I did not expect. I also thought I would be burned out and sick of working out by the end of the challenge. However, i am more motivated than ever. I want to learn more about lifting and improve. I want to create new goals for myself, other than just "getting the workout done" (haha). Thank you for creating this content. You’ve been a tremendous help to me during this time in my life."

Here's what he had to say about the challenge!

"I started working with Brock last year doing PT for 4 months, July-October 2021. Coming out of PT, I’ve focused on maintaining my current form while working to get stronger and slowly grow while being at maintenance calories. While my weight has remained the same and the changes in my body are very subtle, I was able to make big improvements with strength. On the conventional deadlift, for example, my first set was 160lbs in January 2022 and my final set yesterday maxed out at 225lbs!

My form has also improved and I’ve been able to maintain my lean physique throughout the 8 weeks. I’ll continue to strive to build slowly over time and continue to lift heavier with each workout. The zoom calls were also a fantastic resource and Brock has been very generous with his time in answering all of our questions. Here’s to the next challenge!"

"I ended up gaining 4 pounds and can definitely see that my shoulders and arms have gotten bigger but I definitely feel my whole body is stronger. I’m excited to be in maintenance and then cut and look more toned."
