5 points that will change your results forever
This is the face of a man who failed this exact weight 5mins before and came back to pull the biggest deadlift of my life.
240kg or 2.6x my bodyweight 🤯🤯🤯
This weekend I went to a seminar called 'Training the Female Athlete' here in Sydney.
Run by one of the worlds best strength coaches who has coached Thor 'The Mountain Man' Bjornsson to the heaviest deadlift in the world 501kg.
I took this seminar because not only do I want to know more about training women, I also want to continue to grow as a coach and teaching how to get people strong AF is a big passion of mine!
Here's a few things I learnt over the weekend:
1. Men and women aren't that different. Women have a menstrual cycle, can handle more training volume and lower levels of testosterone but aside from that, training a man and a woman are very similar.
2. Form trumps everything. You can have the worlds best program but with bad form, that program will not help you.
3. Every women is different on their cycle. Some ladies are bed ridden on the couch, some ladies are not impacted at all and some are in the middle. Regardless, precautions must be taken when necessary.
4. Food first, supplements second. Creatine, beta alanine are amazing but they are secondary strategies to tackle your goals. Don't get it twisted.
5. Simple works and it is the best. Getting overly fancy is unnecessary and often brings worse results than just doing the basics right. Nail the basics.
I learnt a lot over 2 days and there is much more than these 5 points that I will integrate into my coaching, which only gets better and better and better.
